Buckup

Water reserve for load shedding

Load shedding, in many regions such as South Africa and Pakistan, refers to scheduled blackouts implemented to prevent a total collapse of the national power grid. However, without electricity, water pumps fail, leaving households without running water for hours at a time. This compromises basic hygiene and renders toilets unusable.

This domestic water storage redirects greywater directly beneath the sink to fill 3L and 6L buckets that can be easily used for toilet flushing.

Additionally, a dedicated 3L clean-water module provides a reserve for handwashing and hygiene. This system provides a practical buffer against infrastructure instability, ensuring that essential sanitation remains functional during every blackout.
