About
At Lund University School of Industrial Design, we are focused on allowing students to shape themselves as designers.
Located in the south of Sweden, the Lund University School of Industrial Design was founded in the year 1998. Approximately 30 new students are accepted to the school's programmes each year.
With our position in Scandinavia, our international focus and our extensive facilities, we have a unique opportunity to offer students a platform for studying remote areas within the field of design. The Lund University School of Industrial Design offers education at different levels: bachelor's, master's and research programmes.
Through the years the school has been awarded generous donations from the Stichting IKEA Foundation, which were initiated by IKEA's founder Ingvar Kamprad. He had an idea of designers playing a part in creating competitive advantages for industry and society as well as adding increased value to the customers – and this is a device still held high at the School of Industrial Design.
We encourage professional collaboration, we challenge the boundaries of design and question society to bring about change. From social activism to new material experimentation, we encourage our students to develop their creativity and personality to become influential within, and beyond, the field of design.
