Wax Flower

Vases revealed through melting wax.

Kintsugi is a Japanese art of repairing broken ceramics with lacquer and gold. Instead of hiding the cracks, it makes them visible. The marks remain and become part of the object’s story, showing that damage can also create beauty.

The Wax Flower project translates this idea into a ceramic vase covered with wax. To discover the vase, the wax must be slowly melted like a candle. This action takes time and cannot be reversed. As it melts, the wax leaves traces and forms new, unpredictable shapes around the vase. The object changes step by step, inviting the viewer to slow down and reflect.
