FRAGMENTA

Amphora fragments for the dining table

Fragmenta is a set of dining table accessories inspired by amphora fragments. The individual objects, which are reinterpretations of different pieces of a broken amphora, are given new functions for an intriguing dining setting. With their archetypical and fragmentary character, they metaphorically transform the table in an archaeological site.

The set is thought to adorn a table for two, hence all articles come in couples. The rim and the foot of the amphora serve as candle holders, the handles as napkin rings and the body pieces as side plates. They are manufactured in aluminum, to give a contemporary touch to the materiality, and coated in a terra cotta colour, to reminisce of the iconic warm shades of amphoras.
