Cálido is a portable infrared radiator designed to exist at the intersection of function and craft. The name derives from the Latin calidus, meaning warm, not just physically, but in atmosphere and feeling. That duality defines the project. The steel frame is bent, welded and powder coated. The ceramic tiles are slip cast, glazed and fired by hand, then stacked onto steel rods in a pattern rooted in tessellation. Inside, an infrared panel radiates heat in both directions, warming the ceramic tiles and the people around them, not just the air in the room. The product is directed toward young adults who value considered design and want flexibility in how they heat their space.
