KLURA is an educational tool for preschool children, created by the Industrial Design students Clara Storsten and Anna Maria Nilsson, now honored by Ung svensk form.

Two alumni from the School of Industrial Design at Lund University have been honored as Ung Svensk Form announces its 2025 scholarship recipients. Former students Clara Storsten and Anna Maria Nilsson are among twenty-five young designers awarded scholarships.

Clara Storsten and Anna Maria Nilsson are recognized for their educational tool Klura. The tool consists of wooden and felt tiles along with several small components that together enable endless combinations, challenging both hands and mind. The target group is younger schoolchildren who, with the help of Klura, combine mathematics and embroidery, thereby improving their fine motor skills.

The jury’s motivation reads:

“A beautiful educational tool inspired by early analog techniques, from punch cards to knitting machines. Designed to stimulate both cognitive and motor skills, encourage collaboration and individual learning, and enable self-directed exercises. All attractively packaged with clear instructions and thoughtful design.”

The String Furniture Scholarship is a prototype grant that includes a cash award and the opportunity to both develop a prototype into a finished product and participate in String Furniture’s booth at one of the upcoming major furniture fairs.
